By playing on our server, you automatically agree to adhere to these rules. Violations may lead to penalties. Please note that rules can be updated at any time. All players must acknowledge the Minecraft EULA before participating.
1. GENERAL GUIDELINES
1.1 USE OF HACKS/EXPLOITS
No hacked clients, programs, mods, or resource packs that provide an unfair advantage are allowed.
Forbidden:
- X-ray resource packs (or anything that reveals hidden blocks/ores).
- Mods that allow the viewing of invisible players.
- Health indicators or any tool/mod used to track players.
1.2 ALTERNATE ACCOUNTS
Each player is permitted to have only one (1) Minecraft account.
If multiple players share the same network, please submit a ticket in the Support Discord for potential exceptions.
1.3 CIRCUMVENTING PUNISHMENTS
Evading punishments (e.g., mutes or bans) through alternate accounts is strictly prohibited.
Violators will face account bans across all their accounts.
1.4 ASSISTING IN RULE BREAKING OR EXPLOITING BUGS
Players who aid in breaking rules or exploit bugs for personal gain will face disciplinary action.
Report any bugs or glitches to support immediately; exploiting them will lead to punishment.
1.5 DISRUPTION OF SERVICES
The following actions are prohibited:
- Intentionally lagging the server.
- Interfering with staff operations.
- Conducting DDoS attacks or any other disruptions.
- Spamming tickets in Discord.
Severe disruptions may result in a report to the server provider and relevant authorities.
1.6 PERSONAL INFORMATION
Do not share or disseminate personal information (doxxing) to harm or extort other players.
This rule applies to both server chats and communications managed by staff.
1.7 SALE OF ITEMS
Selling or renting in-game items or ranks for real-world currency is prohibited.
Items and ranks may only be purchased through the TerritorialMC store.
1.8 FARMS AND AUTOMATIC CONTRAPTIONS
Ore farms are forbidden.
Redstone contraptions that create performance issues (lag) may be disabled or removed.
1.9 IMPERSONATION
Changing your identity to match someone else’s (impersonation) is not allowed.
Forbidden actions include but are not limited to:
- Changing your name to match another player’s username.
- Copying town and nation names.
- Impersonating staff in any form.
2. USER BEHAVIOR
2.1 SHARING OF MEDIA / ADVERTISING
Only content directly related to TerritorialMC is permitted in public channels.
Examples of allowed content:
- Town screenshots, base builds, memes about server events.
- YouTube videos or streams showcasing TerritorialMC gameplay.
Forbidden actions include (but are not limited to):
- Posting off-topic or unrelated links, images, or text.
- Advertising other Minecraft/Discord servers or communities.
- Sharing malicious or suspicious links (IP grabbers, scams, etc.)
2.2 CHAT SPAM
Spamming disrupts conversations and clutters communication channels.
The following are considered spam:
- Repeated messages, characters, or phrases (e.g., "hi hi hi hi")
- Copypastas or wall-of-text flooding
- Excessive emoji/image/GIF usage
2.3 TOXICITY, HARRASMENT AND HATE SPEECH
We aim to maintain a respectful and welcoming environment.
Toxic behavior will not be tolerated in any form, whether in public chat, private messages, or voice communication (if applicable).
Prohibited behavior includes:
- Use of racial, ethnic, religious, or homophobic slurs.
- Hate speech, derogatory language, or “dark humor” targeting real-world tragedies or minority groups.
- Jokes or commentary mocking sensitive real-life events (e.g., Holocaust, 9/11, etc.).
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or sustained targeting of players or staff.
- Encouraging self-harm or violence.
- Excessive, directed profanity or personal attacks.
⚠️ Geopolitical RP Disclaimer:
TerritorialMC is a geopolitics server. Political, historical, and military themes may occur within the context of roleplay. However, this does not excuse bigotry, hate speech, or behavior that dehumanizes real-world communities. If it wouldn’t be acceptable in a normal conversation, it’s not acceptable in RP either.
2.4 PUBLIC AND PRIVATE CHATS
- All public channels that are moderated by TerritorialMC staff (in-game chat, Discord channels) are subject to punishments for violations of community rules.
- In-game private messages are also punishable if reported by the recipient.
- However, Discord DMs are not directly punishable, but any reports of inappropriate behavior or harassment through private messages will be evaluated for further action, which may lead to punishment if deemed necessary.
2.5 PUNISHMENT GUIDELINES AND STAFF JUDGEMENT
Punishments for rule violations are not always one-size-fits-all. Staff will use discretionary judgment based on:
- Case review — each situation is unique and will be evaluated based on context.
- Player history and reputation — repeat offenders will face more severe consequences.
- Severity of the offense — lighter infractions may result in warnings, while severe violations will result in harsher actions.
While we strive to be fair and consistent, punishments are handled on a case-by-case basis. The nature of the violation, context, and prior behavior will influence the decision-making process.
3. TOWNY
3.1 TOWN CLAIMS
Towns may not impede other towns' expansion without just cause.
Forbidden actions include:
- Claiming areas that are 1-2 chunks wide extending into unoccupied spaces.
- Creating hollow or snake claims.
3.2 TOWN OUTPOSTS
Each town is allowed one (1) outpost.
European towns may colonize any continent, while other towns may only colonize continents excluding Europe.
3.3 OUTPOST RULES
Location Requirement:
- Outposts must be made by the sea. Any outpost that does not border the sea will be instantly deleted without warning.
- Only towns that are not landlocked may create outposts.
Outpost Expansion Rules:
- At 16 chunks: A port or harbor must be built.
- At 48 chunks: At least one ship must be built in the port/harbor before further expansion.
- For every additional 32 chunks, a new ship must be added.
3.4 ROLEPLAY CONFLICTS
It is encouraged to roleplay scenarios or conflicts prior to declaring war to maintain a fun atmosphere.
While this is not heavily enforced, creating roleplay scenarios is recommended.
3.5 GRIEFING RULES
3.5.1 Proximity Grief
Griefing next to towns in the wilderness is not allowed.
Staff may roll back any damage and/or warn or ban users if the damage is severe.
Towns near ruins of old towns can request rollbacks of their surrounding areas.
3.5.2 Extreme Grief
The creation of large lava structures (lava casts, cobble monsters, lava/water curtains, TNT craters, etc.) is not allowed.
Mass spawning of entities is not allowed and may result in entity despawning if it affects server performance.
3.5.3 Artificial Land Masses
The creation of artificial islands is not allowed.
Extensions of existing islands may be permitted based on size, at staff discretion.
Large island removals (e.g., Crete, Cyprus, Jamaica, Canary Islands, The Philippines, Australia and so on...) are not allowed.
3.5.4 Spawn Trapping
Players are not allowed to trap others in their town’s home block or surrounding chunks to harm them or prevent teleportation.
Protected spawn trapping areas include a one-chunk (16-block) radius around the home block.
Players cannot forcibly prevent others from teleporting out of their town.
3.6 JAILS
Location: Jails must not be underground and must be visible in some way. This could include being themed as a jail or having clear indications that it is a jail, such as signs or other distinguishing features.
Material Restrictions: Jails may not be constructed using obsidian or other materials that make them extremely difficult to breach.
Escape Mechanism: Jails must be designed so that a prisoner can be freed by a single TNT explosion. This ensures that jails are not overly secure and that escape remains a possibility in case of a jailbreak attempt.
4. NAMING
4.1 NATION NAMES
Nation names must reflect their capital region or be historically relevant.
Fictional nation names can be approved by staff.
4.2 TOWN NAMES
Town names must correspond logically to their geographical location (e.g., Paris cannot be in Japan).
Exception: Other names may be allowed at staff discretion, as long as they are serious and appropriate (e.g., no "Skibiddy Rizz Gyat Village" or similar troll names).
4.3 TITLES
Players' titles, surnames, and nicknames related to their town/nation must comply with server rules.

PUNISHMENT DISCRETION
